Description
This Colt Single Action Army is an antique .44-40 revolver built in 1882, making it an early black powder frame example from one of the most recognizable revolver lines ever produced. It retains the classic Peacemaker profile with a six-shot fluted cylinder, single-action operation, and hard rubber-style grips with the rampant Colt motif. Matching serial numbers are noted on the frame, trigger guard, and grip strap, which is an important plus on an old Colt like this.
The barrel has reportedly been shortened to 5 1/16 inches with an attached front sight, the metal shows heavy polishing, markings are weak or partially removed, and the gun now carries a renickeled finish over scattered pitting. It also has a replacement cylinder pin, replacement mainspring and mainspring screw, and replacement hard rubber grips that reportedly fit the frame poorly.
