Description
This extraordinary cased set features two Colt 2nd Generation Single Action Army revolvers in .45 Colt, each expertly engraved by renowned artisan Jeff Flannery. The engraving coverage approximates Colt’s factory “C” style, with vine scroll foliate patterns, punch-dot backgrounds, crosshatch accents, and starburst highlights elegantly decorating the frames, barrels, cylinders, grip straps, hammers, and ejector housings.
Both revolvers are finished in a striking full nickel with silver cylinders, contrasted by two-piece nutmeg ivory grips with Rampant Colt medallions. Each grip panel carries intricate deep relief carving—eagle and shield with “E PLURIBUS UNUM” on the left panels, and vine-style floral carving on the right panels. Together, they form an impressive display of craftsmanship and artistry.
Housed in a wooden Colt presentation case with medallion inlaid on the lid and fitted red velour interior, this set remains in near-immaculate condition. Both revolvers retain virtually all finish and appear unused since their custom upgrade. Their provenance traces to the Collection of Alan Bradley Shepherd, further cementing their desirability among Colt collectors.
